Mountain biking events draw thousands of mountain bike riders, enthusiasts and spectators to the Oakridge - Westfir community for mountain bike tours, races and organized rides. The FAT-55 Oakridge Mountain Bike Marathon happens in September, which is a 55 mile (88.51 km) race on the world class Oakridge trails network. Participate in a group ride along the famous Alpine Trail, skill clinics, community trail building and mechanics workshops.
Other fun community events include summertime concerts, a ukulele festival, a "Pioneer Picnic," and even organized mushroom hunting!

The 5.5 mile "forest-fiver" starts at the South Creek Trailhead and runs to the finish at the Hardesty Trailhead parking lot.
