Lowell

Lowell, Oregon offers a serene natural setting and many fun outdoor things to do. Nestled in the foothills of the Cascades along Highway 58, Lowell is only 30 minutes southeast from Eugene-Springfield. Lowell is known for its three big and beautiful lakes, numerous hiking and mountain biking trails, five picturesque covered bridges and blackberry jam!

Plan on camping in Lowell at one of many campgrounds or RV parks. The town is located on the shores of Dexter Lake and surrounded by beautiful views of area creeks and lush forest. Dexter Lake is popular for day-use recreation and a variety of water sports including rowing.

 Wakeboarding on Dexter Lake
With a permanent regatta course, it is one of the best lakes in the region for rowing competitions, drawing teams from across the west coast. The Lowell Covered Bridge Interpretive Center is also located here.

Adjacent to Dexter Lake is Lookout Point Reservoir, a separate body of water ideal for the quiet activities of fishing, birding and picnicking. Soak up nature along the accessible shoreline - be sure to bring your camera and fishing pole.

Fall Creek Reservoir is popular for swimming, boating, water skiing, wake boarding, wind surfing and sailing. The Fall Creek National Recreation Trail offers 14 miles (22.53 km) of hiking through old-growth forest along the banks of the creek. Numerous trailheads offer access points and camping options. Discover swimming holes and a double waterfall!
