| Beginning just an hour east of Eugene - Springfield along HWY 126, the McKenzie River is composed of a dozen small riverfront communities. There are a few general stores and the ever popular Takoda's Restaurant in Rainbow. During the summer, Belknap Hot Springs Resort offers outdoor BBQ sandwiches. But it's probably a good idea to pack some picnic provisions. To complete the McKenzie River Edition, allow for at least one overnight in the Cascades. There are a variety of affordable and fun places to stay. Curl up in a cozy cabin, relax at a rustic B&B or pitch your tent at one of many exquisite campgrounds. Depending on the time of year, advance reservations are recommended. | |
