A new European-style bike event, combining both competitive and recreational riding experiences, will roll out in Eugene, Oregon's nearby town of Cottage Grove on June 2. The 2012 Oregon Gran Fondo cycling event will reflect an age-old tradition that originated in France and Italy where cyclists of all ages and abilities are invited to ride a stage of a professional grand tour, such as the Tour de France.
