Pre & Post Activities

Whether you book your convention in the fall, winter, spring or summer; the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region has exciting year round pre-and-post activities for your delegates. Eugene's walkable convention and city center offers plenty of convenient dining, shopping, theatre, museums, gyms and parks.

Rely on our local area knowledge and decades of convention experience to recommend the best cultural, recreational and culinary adventures for your target audience.

Cultural Adventures
As a college town, Eugene's nightlife is vibrant with bars, clubs and music venues. With a rich performing arts scene and many museums, Eugene, Cascades & Coast offers a diverse spread of attractions to engage visitors before, during and after the conference.

Recreational Adventures
Lush parks, golf courses and rivers for fishing are just minutes from Eugene's convention hotels. Wildlife viewing is prevalent whether along the coast, up in the mountains or right in town!

Snowboarders can head to the ski slopes during winter and to the coastal sand dunes for sandboarding during summer. Popular group activities include river rafting, dune buggy tours and horseback riding

Culinary Adventures
It wouldn't be a visit to the Pacific Northwest without indulging in our fabulous Northwest regional cuisine and tasting our famous pinot noir. Fine dining establishments highlight regional seafood and organic meats, as well as many ethnic favorites. From coffee shops to food carts, delegates can find quick, affordable dining that is also delicious.

Picturesque wineries surround Eugene, while microbreweries crowd the urban core. Arrange tours or private tastings for your group at any of these establishments.

Shopping
Shopping in Oregon is tax-free! So send attendees on shopping sprees to the local malls. Another distinctive feature of our community is the colorful Saturday Market--a must for any visitor with its artisan crafts, food booths and lively entertainment.

Easy Day Trips & Tours
  • Wine tours of the South Willamette Valley, with a dozen wineries within thirty minutes of Eugene. Incorporate the region's historic covered bridges along the way and perhaps an overnight at an area golf lodge.
  • Jaunts to the Oregon coast for sandboarding or seasonal whale watching! Only an hour from Eugene, the Oregon coast is a beautiful and easy destination. Add in a fishing boat charter or helicopter tour of the dramatic coastline.
  • Head east of Eugene to explore the McKenzie River by Drift Boat or for waterfall hikes in the Cascade foothills. Shop at local artist galleries and have lunch at small riverfront lodges. There is even a gondola that can take groups to the top of Eagle Peak during the summer months!
Eugene Excursions
  • Rally your sports fans for a field trip of sports landmarks including Autzen Stadium, Hayward Field, Pre's Trail, the Nike Store, PK Park and the architecturally superb Jaqua Center.
  • Do a pub crawl of award-winning microbreweries clustered around the city center and learn brewmaster secrests.
  • "Day trippers" can hark back to the 60s perusing the Saturday Market, exploring Lane County Historical Museum's permanent collection and visiting any number of natural food stores. Conclude with a tofu burger and chai tea.
  • Explore the green side of Eugene by touring community gardens and recycling businesses. Get involved in a volunteer opportunity or attend an UO forum on a cutting edge topic.
