Eugene, Cascades & Coast Photo Contest Requirements

Photo Requirements & Details

Photos must be taken within the boundaries of Lane County and represent the categories you've selected to enter. Photos taken between July 2009 and September 2011 will be accepted. Up to two photos may be submitted in each category for a total contest limit of 14 photos.
Photos must be in color and uploaded to the Eugene, Cascades & Coast Photo Contest group on Flickr. Images must be at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
Photos with recognizable people will require model releases or minor model releases.
Prizes valued between $50 and $260 will be awarded to winning entries in exchange for Travel Lane County's non-exclusive rights to use images for publications, promotions and editorial purposes.
The City of Eugene will also judge and award prizes for the best images representing Eugene from the contest entries.
Junior entries will be judged collectively in two age groups (ages 12-17 and 11 & under). In each age group, three winners from all categories combined will be awarded first, second and third-place prizes.
Travel Lane County employees and family members are not eligible for the contest.
Photographers will be notified when results are posted to the website.

Technical Quality - 25 %
Composition/Appeal/Impact - 25 %
Representation of Contest Category - 50 %

Photos will be judged for technical quality, composition, appeal, impact and how well photos capture the contest category. Youth will be divided into two judging groups: Ages 12-17 and Ages 11 & under. As a partner, the City of Eugene will also be choosing and awarding prizes for their top picks from contest entries submitted in each category that best represent Eugene.
