Paddle through the scenic water trails of the Northwest in the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region. Along the central Oregon Coast, the Siuslaw Estuary water trail and the Siltcoos River canoe trail allow visitors to move through slow, peaceful waters and experience the calm serenity of these graceful rivers. Trails start in locations such as Florence or Mapleton and wind through a variety of terrain and exciting stopping points including forests, dunes, wildlife refuges, and camping sites. Water trails also abound in the heart of Lane County with multiple launch sites for canoes or kayaks. Fast moving rapids can be found in sections of the Willamette River water trail, so be sure to grab a map detailing the river before heading out on your water adventure. See what this diverse region has in store for you by venturing down one of these spectacularly satisfying water trails.
A flat water channel coursing through the Fern Ridge Wildlife Area. Excellent for birding and wildlife watching. Explore this tiny creek in the spring and early summer when water level is highest (Fall drawdown from Fern Ridge makes it seasonally inaccessible for boats.) Like a jungle paddle, Coyote Creek feels like an adventure. Plus its easily accessible and close to Eugene. Head west on Highway 126 from Eugene, turn left on Central Rd opposite Perkins Peninsula Park. Turn left on Cantrell. Parking area on left by creek's west bank.
For a peaceful experience try this water trail just south of Florence.
