Springfield Events

Springfield's event calendar is jam-packed with family-friendly activities such as park concerts, outdoor movies, childrens' teas, roller derbies, fishing tournaments, holiday festivals and ongoing performing arts. Willamalane Park and Recreation District offers fun recreational opportunities for adults, seniors and kids and The Eugene, Cascades & Coast Adventure Center near Gateway Mall hosts the Adventure Club for kids.

Other event highlights include Fiesta Latina, Oregon's largest Latino gathering and Springfield's "Oldest and Coldest" downtown Christmas parade. Geocaching experts will be on-site to teach kids and their families about geocaching basics and provide all the equipment needed to go on a geocaching treasure hunt during the event. Geocaching and related activities will take place in and around the Adventure Center. Kids can also make geocaching themed arts and crafts throughout the morning and enter to win prizes.

The course winds it's way through the Hayden Bridge neighborhood, before heading out onto Old Mohawk Road, McKenzie View Drive, and then a glorious finish in Armitage Park. The first five miles are mostly flat, the middle six miles are gently rolling, and the final two miles are completely flat along Coburg Road and through Armitage Park. There are many spectacular views of the McKenzie River along the way.
