Prior to joining the organization in 2004, Janis was Director of Sales at The Governor Hotel in Portland, and worked in sales at Seventh Mountain Resort in Bend. She has an additional 10 years of experience as an event planner and marketing communications manager. She earned both an MBA and Bachelors in Marketing from Portland State University.
Janis is the Housing Committee Chair for Tracktown12, serves on the Eugene Airport Advisory Committee, and is past president of the Willamette Valley Chapter of the American Marketing Association.
In her spare time, you’ll find her doing Olympic weightlifting at the gym, or hiking and running the miles of trails throughout Lane County.
Sue brings over 25 years of hospitality and sales experience to her position. During her eight years with Travel Lane County, Sue has served as the primary sports sales manager, assisting organizers with everything from sports venues and hotel rooms to transportation, permits and volunteers.
In her spare time, you can often find Sue volunteering as a corner marshal for cycling and running events and as a scorekeeper for Special Olympics Oregon. She serves on the City of Eugene’s Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee and is a member of NASC and GMIC.
Prior to her role at Travel Lane County, Kayla worked for Northwest Event Management as an executive assistant to Eugene 08's project managers. She previously worked as the apparel manager for the Eugene Running Company and as an assistant program coordinator for World Wheelchair Sports. Kayla is also an alumni of the University of Oregon's track & field team and served as a volunteer assistant coach for the team in their 2006 and 2007 seasons.
Kayla's primary role is to assist event planners in promoting, planning and implementing sports events in Lane County.
Mike earned his undergraduate degree in Economics at UCLA and a Masters of Athletic Administration at Seattle Pacific University. As a consultant for sports and recreation facilities he has focused on strategic planning, facility expansion, program development and recruiting. In Eugene, Mike served as General Manager at the Eugene Swim & Tennis Club. He is currently the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Northwest Christian University and the Director of the Oregon Volleyball Club, a member of USA Volleyball, providing high level training and coaching to middle and high school student athletes. Mike served on the Board of the Regional Sports Center (currently Willamalane Sports Center) and involves himself with local Special Olympic coaching clinics and FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes).
