Historical Attractions, Landmarks & Monuments

From the first discovery of gold along the McKenzie River to the iconic Heceta Head Lighthouse signaling ships just north of Florence, Oregon is awash in history.  Take a walking tour of old towns dense with architecturally and historically significant buildings dating back to the 1850s. Tour the region's many of covered bridges. Explore the University of Oregon campus and nearby cemeteries.  Tromp through Dorris Ranch, Springfield's unique living history farm - the oldest working hazelnut (filbert) farm in the country.
