Water Activities

The Eugene, Cascades & Coast region offers an abundance of rivers and lakes. Hop in a kayak and paddle the region's water trails or launch a boat on a placid lake and go fishing!  From the Pacific Ocean to Waldo Lake above Oakridge; from the coastal Suislaw River to the McKenzie River in the Cascades, there are plenty of places to splash around.

Boating & Sailing - Sail across Fern Ridge Reservoir, row a Drift Boat on the McKenzie or hop aboard a jet boat for a scenic ride on the Willamette River.  Fishing - Cast a line into a Creswell pond or pull up a crab net from the docks in Florence. Wakeboarding, Waterskiing & Jet-Skiing - Get tricky on one ski at Dorena Lake in Cottage Grove. River Rafting, Canoeing and Kayaking- Kayak the Mill Race in Eugene or float the Middle Fork of the Willamette near Oakridge. Swimming Pools & Water Parks - Tube the wave pool in Springfield or let the kids romp at Amazon Pool in Eugene.

Life Jacket Lending Program

Life jackets are required by law for all occupants in a boat, raft or kayak. Children under the age of 12 are required to be wearing them. Thanks to the McKenzie Fire and Rescue and the McKenzie River Guides Association's Life Jacket Lending Program, you can borrow a life jacket from eleven locations along the McKenzie River. So there is no excuse for unsafe boating!
