McKenzie River Chainsaw Art Festival

McKenzie River Chainsaw Art Festival Thursday – Sunday, McKenzie Community Track and Field (Vida) A unique three day event merging a passion for Northwest forestry with art. Using chainsaws, master wood carvers create memorable wood sculptures celebrating McKenzie River heritage. Partake in gold panning, nail driving and a youth track meet.

Xwest Huck Fest Saturday, Sand Master Park (Florence) The pros take center stage (or should we say, center dunes) at Sand Master Park and Xwest Clothing Company's annual pro/am sandboard jump competition sanctioned by Dune Riders International in beautiful Florence on the Oregon Coast.  Admission is free to watch or compete.

Kids Create! Eugene Saturday, Hilton Eugene and the Hult Center for the Performing Arts (Eugene) If you have kids, this is the place to be on Saturday. Kids Create! Eugene is an all new youth arts event held in conjunction with the Create! Eugene festival. Come and sing, drum, draw, paint – create! Artists and youth arts groups will lead hands-on workshops. Youth performing arts groups will perform every half hour featuring theater, dance, music and circus arts. The entire event is absolutely free!

ART Lane Arts Council’s 2014 Mural Bike Tour Saturday, WJ Skatepark + Urban Plaza (Eugene) See Eugene’s colorful public masterpieces on two wheels. This scenic, artistic tour of local murals begins at the WJ Skatepark and will wind its way through the Whiteaker neighborhood. Mural artists will be on-hand to talk about their pieces.

Live Music at Domaine Meriwether Winery Friday and Saturday, Domaine Meriwther Winery (Veneta) Spend the evening wine tasting and listening to live music on a vineyard. Friday night features guitarist Will Brown. On Saturday, Domaine Meriwether welcomes reggae artist Norma Fraser and El Flowious.

Huey Lewis and the News Saturday, Cuthbert Amphitheater (Eugene) Iconic American pop-rock band Huey Lewis and the News takes over the Cuthbert Amphitheater stage for a magnificent performance of their chart-topping Billboard classics. With a huge catalog of music in store and well-known anthems like "The Power of Love," "I Want a New Drug" and "Hip to be Square," this unforgettable, generation-defining group will be one of the must-see shows of the year.

Eugene Emeralds vs. Salem-Keizer Volcanoes and the Hillsboro Hops Thursday – Sunday, PK Park (Eugene) The Eugene Emeralds are at home this weekend to take on the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes on Thursday and Friday. The Hillboro Hops come to PK Park Saturday and Sunday. Theme nights include Bats and Tats, Irish Night, Baseball Cap Giveaway Night and 501 Sunday where hotdogs are only a $1.

Twilight 5K at Silvan Ridge Winery Saturday, Silvan Ridge Winery (Eugene) Come enjoy a beautiful evening for the entire family! Bask in evening's shade, run a sweet 5K in the countryside, picnic on the grass with the family, and enjoy some fabulous wine, beer and music with friends.
