Join a small group of eight volunteers planting trees in the Terwilliger burn area. Help the McKenzie River area recover from the devastating wildfires of 2020, while getting an up close and personal tour of this amazing river eco-system. The volunteer work party package is $775 for three days and two nights at the beautiful Horse Creek Lodge, organized by Global Family Travels and First Nature Tours. The service commitment is approximately 10 to 12 hours of beginner level work over two days. Additionally there will be guided outdoor hiking and hot spring experiences. Learn about the life-cycle of wildfires, major environmental and cultural impacts of public land management and the role of stewardship. Be part of the McKenzie Regenerative Travel Project! Community partners include the Cascade Volunteers, Worthy Garden Club and Operation Appleseed. COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place. If the group package is sold out, inquire about personally customized voluntourism opportunities. Also look for additional packages throughout the summer.
