Join a small group of eight volunteers restoring campsites, installing signs and decommissiong trails as needed in the Mt. Washington Willderness and Tenus Lakes area. Help the McKenzie River area recover from the devastating wildfires of 2020, while getting an up close and personal tour of this amazing river eco-system. The volunteer work party package is $775 for three days and two nights at the riverfront Belknap Hot Springs Lodge, organized by Global Family Travels and First Nature Tours. The service commitment is approximately 10 to 12 hours of moderate to advanced level work over two days. Additionally there will be hiking and whitewater rafting experiences on the renowned McKenzie River. Learn about the life-cycle of wildfires, major environmental and cultural impacts of public land management and the role of stewardship. Be part of the McKenzie Regenerative Travel Project! Community partners include the Friends of the Central Cascade Wilderness. COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place. If the group package is sold out, inquire about personally customized voluntourism opportunities. Also look for additional packages offered throughout the summer.
