The inaugural Bohemian Film Festival is taking place in Cottage Grove to showcase a wide range of short and long-form films submitted from throughout the world. Over 180 films have entered for festival selection by a jury of everyday people who love a good story and prizes will be awarded in each category, with the Grand Prize winner receiving $3,000 and a trophy. View feature length and short films and hear insight from filmmakers who have entered their work in one of seven categories: Adventure/Drama/Mystery, Animation, Documentary, Narrative, Pacific Northwest, Sci-Fi and Spirituality. Multiple venues in the small town of Cottage Grove will host screenings, many with in walking distance of each other downtown with a few more less than five minutes by car or 10 minutes by bike.
Check back with the Bohemian Film Festival website closer to the event for the latest listings of selected films, descriptions, trailers, show times and venues. The Bohemian Film Festival coincides with the 40th anniversary of locally-filmed National Lampoon's "Animal House" and will hold free screenings of the PG version of the movie and the newly completed documentary, "Animal House of Blues," at Cottage Grove Armory after the parade on Saturday.
