Damn Yankees

The Shedd Institute's featured musical of the 2019 Oregon Festival of American Music will be "Damn Yankees," a play based on 1954 novel "The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant" by Douglass Wallop. This story of love and baseball was a Broadway mega-hit and winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The winning score by Adler and Ross and a devilish book by George Abbot have made this sporty musical comedy a true American classic that includes gems like "Shoeless Joe from Hannibal Mo," "A Man Doesn't Know" and "Whatever Lola Wants".

The Shedd Institute's production is directed and choreographed by Richard Jessup with music direction by Robert Ashens and features Ward Fairbairn, Dylan Stasack, Ron Daum, Lanny Mitchell, Kenady Conforth, Cindy Kenny and Meg Boyd, along with a fine cast of Shedd veterans.
