Learn why organisms diversify their offspring in reponse to stress at September's Quack Chats Pub Talk, titled "Don't Put All Your Eggs in one Basket." University of Oregon associate professor of biology Nadia Singh will deliver a talk on how maternal stress influences genetic processes. Singh studies ecology, evolution and genetics and is working to understand a genetic exchange that takes place during meiosis using fruit flies as a model system.
This event is part of the monthly Quack Chats Pub Talk hosted by the University of Oregon, which aims to bring together the academic and local communities by sharing the latest in research and innovation coming from the university. Food and drink will be available to purchase at Ax Billy Bar and Grill.
