Jacqueline J. West, Ph.D. is a Jungian analyst practicing in Santa Fe. She will present on the current state of world, a highly activated multidimensional and multivalent world that is teetering toward a perilous imbalance. This lecture will look at the stories we live in, individually and communally in our public world. She will reflect on how Jung deeply valued the relationships between consciousness and the archetypal realms, as well as the emergence of conscience. Then she will discuss the practice of developing and maintaining a creative relationship to the destructive forces that cast large shadows in our lives to help lead us into the creative process of forging flexible and strong individual personalities and psycho-social structures. A brief review of the archetypal roots of narcissistic dynamics will link these reflections to clinical diagnostic of wisdom.
