Eugene Symphony - Earth and Sea

Details

Trumpeting acclaim to the natural world, this concert opens with celebratory brass fanfare by Dukas. Then, they conclude their two-part collaboration with Augusta Read Thomas as Third Coast Percussion performs the West Coast premiere of Sonorous Earth, which features ceremonial bells from cultures all over the world. Wagner’s Ring Cycle hero makes an exuberant trip to the Rhine River, and then Debussy’s La mer captures the essence of the ocean in all its ever-changing moods.
