Gay Rodeo - A Celebration of Western Rural Heritage and Gay Culture

Details

Learn about the history and cultural of the gay rodeo community with a talk by folklorist Craig Miller, held at the Museum of Natural and Cultural History. Gay rodeo reveals a long-marginalized segment of the western community, blending rural heritage with the courage, humor and expression of urban gay America. Through the talk, explore the values that help unify this community.

Miller's talk is cosponsored by the University of Oregon Department of History and the Folklore and Public Culture Program. While at the museum, see the exhibit "Blake Little: Photographs from the Gay Rodeo," on display through January.
