The Long Tom Watershed Council is hosting a free lecture on the geologic history of the watershed and the major geomorphic processes that shaped the area. University of Oregon Geologic Sciences professor Josh Roering and BLM soils scientist Karin Baitis will speak about what the area looked like thousands of years ago and how events like the Missoula Floods and Mount Mazama eruption influenced what is seen on the landscape today. Light refreshments will be provided.
