North Bottomlands Heritage and History Hike

Details

Take a three-hour walking tour of the North Bottomlands of Buford Park with Greg Hyde and the Friends of Buford Park & Mt Pisgah. Learn about the natural and cultural history, heritage and current activities in this part of the park, including the Native Plant Nursery, Thompson Slough, the Seavey Barn and Kienzle House, heritage fruit trees and the horse arena. Walk through the various landscapes and habitats of Buford Park such as the restored oak savanna and spring box meadow, where you can see local geographical landmarks like the Middle Fork of the Willamette Rive, the Willamette Confluence Preserve, the Coburg Hills, Spencer Butte and the city of Springfield. The tour will be taken at a slow pace along gravel and trails with some elevation gain. Pre-registration is required.
