Join the Museum of Natural and Cultural History for an inside look at the diverse ecosystem of the Oregon Dunes on a trip to one of nation's most unique habitats. Learn about how this area is vital to plant and animal life, some of which is found only in this region. Participants on the excursion will get the chance to hike two miles across dunes near Florence, walking over dry and wet sand and uneven ground.
This trip is in collaboration with the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative, which works to preserve the ecology of the dunes and restore the habitat to its native state.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Transportation from the museum and back is included, as well as snacks and water.
