You’ll be swept up by Sergei Rachmaninov’s Third Piano Concerto, which sparkles and charms from its deceptively simple first notes to the elation of a triumphant close, played by radiant American pianist Claire Huangci. Johannes Brahms’s overture — which he himself called “a very boisterous potpourri of student songs” — is infused with an irrepressible sense of fun. In between, hear the Pacific Northwest premiere of Gabriella Smith’s new work ONE, part of the First Symphony Project showcasing talented young composers.
The Eugene Symphony is an orchestra whose mission is enriching lives through the power of music. Since 1982, the orchestra has taken up residence in the Hult Center of the Performing Arts, a performing arts venue and a cornerstone in downtown Eugene's arts and culture district.
