University of Oregon professor, Daniel Miller, will present the world premiere of his documentary "Citizen Blue." The film follows the life of acclaimed film director James Blue, and will feature rare clips and images from the James Blue Archive in University of Oregon Special Collections and interviews with Blue’s legendary colleagues David MacDougall, George Stevens, Jr., Joan Churchill, Colin Young and many others. Portland native and graduate of the University of Oregon's theater program, Blue went on to direct films nominated for an Academy Award and another that won the Critics Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. His landmark Civil Rights documentary, The March, was admitted into the prestigious National Film Registry. Blue was a pioneering film professor at UCLA, Rice University, and the American Film Institute, where his students included Francis Ford Coppola, Paul Schrader, and Jim Morrison.
