The Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council (CFWWC) welcomes local biodynamic farmer and gardener, Marjory House, for a presentation entitled "The Mystery and Science Behind Biodynamics." House will discuss the importance of healthy soil and how it relates to the health of humans and animals as well as the history of organic agriculture in America and how biodynamics fits into it. From carbon sequestering to water retention, resistance to pests and disease and high Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) levels, science is starting to pay attention to these outcomes. This talk will demystify biodynamic agriculture by looking at the ways in which science is catching up.
This event is part of a series of public talks hosted by the Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council. Socializing, trivia and updates about the watershed are held the first hour before the presentation begins at 6 p.m.
