Stanley Wolukau-Wanambwa will lecture about intersections between pictures and words. Wolukau-Wanambwa is a photographer, writer and teacher based in New York City. He is the former editor of the contemporary photography website The Great Leap Sideways (2011—2017). He has also contributed essays to catalogues and monographs by Vanessa Winship, George Georgiou and Paul Graham. Additionally, he was an artist-in-residence at Light Work, guest editor for the Aperture Photobook Review and writer for Aperture, FOAM magazine and The Photographer’s Gallery. Wolukau-Wanambwa has a BA in Philosophy and French from Oxford University, UK and an MFA in Photography from Virginia Commonwealth University. His photographic work addresses questions of patriarchy, race, history and identity.
