The exhibition features paintings, metal sculpture and textile works by Haitian artists. Art to Educate is a social enterprise created to support education in Haiti through the sale of Haitian art and handicrafts. Haiti is a country rich in art, music and culture. In the last decade, natural disasters, including the 2010 Haiti Earthquake and Hurricane Matthew in 2016 have had devastating impacts on the Haitian people already affected by a long history of political, environmental and economic challenges. The resilience of the Haitian people is profound, and there are Haitian organizations throughout the country working to ensure that the Haitian people are developing their own solutions to challenges they face. The Art of Haiti, hosted by Art to Educate/Haiti and Oakshire Inspires seeks to build knowledge of the incredible art being produced by Haitian artists and to raise support for two Haitian-based organizations focused on increasing the resilience of the Haitian people through their work.
