This holiday season, the cast and crew of the Cottage Theatre will perform the timeless story, "The Fantasticks." The play, written in 1960 by Tom Jones, has captured the hearts and imaginations of audiences for over half a century with its allegory of a boy, a girl, two fathers and a wall. In the musical, the fathers pretend to feud so that their children will fall in love, a deception that leads to a breakup of the two lovers. Eventually, the boy and girl find their way back to each other. "The Fantasticks" is the longest-running musical in the world, due in part to the touching and universal fable of love. Classic numbers will be performed, included "Try to Remember" and "Soon It's Gonna Rain."
Kory Weimer will direct for the Cottage Theater, with Ashlee Winkler and Thomas Guastavino starring as The Girl and The Boy.
