Watch or participate in the USATF Oregon 1 Hour Run Championships, an event where runners attempt to break the record for the farthest distance covered on a track in one hour. American masters are expected to compete, and longstanding records may well be broken. To set a record at 15,000 m or 10 mi, runners must complete the distance in less than an hour, while for records to count en route at 15,000 m and 10 mi, the competitor must go on to complete the entire one-hour race. The current records stand at 18,586 m in the men's division and 16,074 m in the women's division!
Free camping (first-come, first-served) is available at the track on Friday and Saturday night. There will also be food carts and live music at the track as part of the McKenzie River Trail Run 50K post-race festivities.
