Lithography is a traditional printing method based on the mutual repulsion of oil and water. In this workshop you will create an image on an aluminum plate using litho drawing materials made from grease or oil-based substances. When ready, ink is “rolled up” onto the plate, and the plate and paper are passed through one of the lithography presses to transfer the ink onto the final print. The plate can then be re-inked to create multiples of the image. This two-day intensive workshop at Whiteaker Printmakers is an excellent introduction to the lithographic process. No previous printmaking experience is required. Pre-registration is required.
