2020 Christmas & Holiday Happenings

As the year comes to a close, we'll be celebrating the winter season close to home. Take advantage of the break in activity to enjoy a gentler pace — make crafts, order in to support local restaurants, shop online locally for holiday gifts and explore the beauty of nearby nature.

Plan for a safe and festive holiday season. Lane County has compiled a list of safer ways to celebrate by risk level.

  • Help support the community — shop small, shop local
  • Book hotel rooms for any visiting family and friends
  • Enjoy the holidays with physically-distanced activities

Support local businesses by shopping local and staying local. Make that extra effort to select this year's gifts from an artisan vendor, a small business or a local shop. Set your holiday table with food from nearby farms, vendors and restaurants. Book regional hotel rooms for visiting friends or family—or for yourself as a much needed "staycation." Buy gift certificates now, planning for future fun.

One of the silver linings of this unusual time has been a renewed commitment to supporting local.… More Info

We miss them and they miss us. If you have family and friends visiting this holiday season, they may be more comfortable staying in a hotel. Or your family may wish to take a "staycation" too and all meet up in downtown Eugene, Springfield or on the Oregon Coast.

Note: Beginning November 13, the state of Oregon is advising a 14-day self-quarantine for all travelers arriving from outside the state. Read more here.

Christmas Tree Farm by Taj Morgan

Bells are still jingling and lights are still sparkling even though events are structured a little differently this year. Enjoy a "reverse" parade, take a self-guided tour of the holiday lights and watch holiday performing arts online.
