Florence Winter Escapes

Discover what makes the historic town of Florence the ultimate winter coastal playground. Rugged coastline and miles of shifting dunes make this the perfect location for storm watching. In between storms, there are plenty of sunny days. Delight in horseback riding on the beach, enjoy fine dining in Historic Old Town Florence and hike trails with breathtaking views.

December and January are prime whale watching months on the central Oregon Coast. Bring binoculars for a chance to see the incredible migrating Gray whales just offshore. Winter is also an ideal season for spotting sea lions in America's largest sea cave.

After your adventures, tuck into a coffee shop along the river for cocoa, savor a fresh bowl of hot chowder or sip a cocktail at a local hot spot. Visit a museum and check out the art scene. Plan your stay and learn more about what makes Florence the perfect winter escape.
