Heroes 2 Oregon Dragon Boat Paddle Challenge

Saturday, August 12, 2017

Join us for the annual Dragon Boat paddle challenge and be a hero to local wounded veterans!

Time: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Lowell State Recreation Site • 850 North Shore Dr, Lowell OR

The Paddle Challenge  is an annual community event and fundraiser for the Eugene Parks Foundation Veterans Adaptive Sport Project, which "provides funding for injured, ill and disabled Veterans to be able to engage in adaptive sports all year long and encourage veterans to stay active and live a healthy lifestyle."

The paddle challenge is organized by Eugene, Cascades and Coast Sports, Emerald City Dragon Boat Club, Vancouver Lake Catch 22 and the City of Eugene Adaptive Recreation. We encourage teams comprised of people who  have never set foot on a dragon boat before, but would like to try the sport and have a fun day on the water. The event is unique in that corporate/community division teams are assigned an experienced coach/caller for the day who will instruct the novice team on basic dragon boat technique and usher them through the event.

It is our hope that, as the event grows each year, more and more  experienced regional teams will join us as well. This event is a fun, supportive, informal day on the water. The focus is to let loose, build community, and raise money for a good cause. For Lodging and visitor information, visit the Accommodations page.

A great opportunity for team-building while fundraising for a great cause!
