Brand Ambassador

Position Description:

The Brand Ambassador fulfills Travel Lane County’s brand promise by delivering exceptional customer service, providing accurate information, and demonstrating a passion for the diverse recreational activities throughout the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region. This position primarily engages with locals and tourists by providing information at events and places of interest around Lane County. 

Responsibilities:

  • Champion the Eugene, Cascades & Coast brand to both locals and visitors
  • Distribute Lane County visitor-related materials at events, major attractions and places of interest in Lane County and at key Oregon stops
  • Assist visitors with trip planning; provide options for accommodations and relevant information about recreational activities
  • Accurately maintain and collect data: Zip codes, visitor interests, etc.
  • Work the occasional shift at the Downtown Eugene Visitor Center and Eugene, Cascades & Coast Adventure Center in Springfield, helping visitors with trip planning and local recommendations
  • Occasional data entry
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Passion for and knowledge of Lane County’s adventure, culinary and cultural offerings
  • Ability to positively represent Travel Lane County and the destination
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Willingness to operate a mobile outreach bicycle (M.I.K.E the Bike) and ride short distances
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to work easily & professionally with a variety of visitors, coworkers and clients
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced customer service environment
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, internet)
  • Ability to do data entry and use Excel (preferred)
  • Enjoy working as part of a team 
  • Must be willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays
  • Capacity to lift up to 35 lbs. from the floor and carry short distance
  • Valid Oregon driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to stand for duration of an 8-hour shift

Compensation/Hours:

  • This is a part-time, hourly non-exempt position working weekends and holidays as part of Travel Lane County’s outreach program and mobile visitor van. Sick leave earned on hours worked, eligible for employer contribution to SEP/IRA after 2 years of employment.
  • Pay starts at $12.50/hr
  • This position reports to the Visitor Services Manager.
