Guest Service Gold

This program from the Oregon Restaurant and Lodging Association (ORLA) is designed to train front line staff how to engage with guests to provide positive experiences. The course includes an interactive course, tests, certification, diploma and lapel pin. This online training can be completed within two hours and can be stopped/restarted. Participants who complete the course earn an internationally accredited credential as a Certified Guest Service Professional.

The curriculum features seven principles of customer engagement and is specific to the Oregon hospitality industry. It is a great training resource for those who work for hotels, restaurants, attractions, guide services, and welcome centers.

Understanding Unconscious Bias

This interactive training program heightens the awareness of unconscious bias in the workplace. It goes through examples of interactions with guests and fellow employees to bring awareness when it comes to welcoming people of different backgrounds, religions, customs, sexual orientations, etc. This program is through the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) in conjunction with the Multicultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance (MFHA).

Take Care Out There

Travel Oregon's "Take Care Out There" toolkit promotes responsible recreation in Oregon. It has valuable "Know Before You Go" information. Follow the core responsible recreation values: prepare, care and connect. Share these values with visitors as you send them off to explore the beautiful state of Oregon.

She also oversees Visitor Center operations and staff. A native Oregonian, Megan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northwest Christian University and holds a Master's degree from Bushnell University.
