In the middle of the Diamond Peak Wilderness area is glacier-carved Diamond Peak rising 8,744 ft (2.67 km). Some glacial remnants and snow at the summit. The Pacific Crest Trail runs along the east side of the mountain with hiking trails to the top. The shortest trail up is approximately 12 miles on the South Ridge. Some approaches for mountain climbers. A Northwest Forest Pass is required for trail head parking. Wilderness regulations apply including maximum group size of 12 people, seasonal overnight permits, campfire and equipment restrictions. The area is managed by the Forest Service.
