Following a now-abandoned Oregon Pacific Railroad line, The Row River National Recreation Trail is a well paved 15.6 mile (25 km) multi-use path that offers excellent access to the outdoors directly from Cottage Grove.
Part of the Covered Bridges Scenic Bikeway, the path is open to equestrians, cyclists and walkers and runs from Cottage Grove to the banks of Dorena Lake along the Row River. There are multiple covered bridges along the path, including the Mosby Covered Bridge, which was featured in the opening scene of the 1986 film Stand by Me.
The trail system offers many trailheads including one in downtown Cottage Grove at 10th and Main Street. People looking to begin their ride or walk closer to the lake can park at the Row Point Trailhead, which sits on the bank of Dorena Lake. There are restrooms at every trailhead except for the Row Point Trailhead.
