Matthew Knight Arena - Not Just for Basketball Games

Published: March 22, 2018

More Than You Would Expect

The beloved Matthew Knight Arena, a cornerstone of the University of Oregon, has more potential than one may think. Completed in 2011, the arena has the capacity to hold more than 12,000 people, and that doesn’t have to be just basketball fans. The LEED Gold® arena can wow any audience in any form. Host your after-hours networking social with a college mascot theme, or get your delegates together for an inspiring keynote speaker. The choice is entirely up to you, and the possibilities are truly endless!

The largest indoor venue in the Eugene - Springfield area, Matthew Knight Arena is perfectly located in the metro area, right on the western edge of the University of Oregon campus. It’s within walking distance of Downtown Eugene and many local hotels, as well as fantastic local restaurants, breweries, entertainment and more.

"Matthew Knight Arena is easy to access via foot, public transportation or private shuttles," Juanita Metzler said, Convention Sales Manager with Travel Lane County. "And the staff works with you on your transportation requirements."

State of the art technology enhances the audience's experience during your event. With more than 200 television screens throughout the arena, your event held at Matthew Knight will wow your delegates and leave them begging for more! Plenty of bathrooms, concession stands, four loading docks and private club rooms will make this venue easily accessible for all who come, even those setting up. The staff is incredibly punctual, knowledgeable and friendly, and will be there to help you at all times. There is ample bicycle parking, and access to public transportation, making this venue perfect for any size group.

"The space at Matthew Knight Arena is easily transformable for your requirements. The arena can become a concert hall or keynote facility within hours," Metzler said. "The hallways can become merchandising areas, and don't forget to schedule your meet-n-greets in one of the private areas. The staff are professionals as they take your criteria and turn them into a reality."

Matthew Knight Arena has hosted a wide variety of events, from sports games to concerts from global superstars like Elton John, Tom Petty, Miranda Lambert, Kevin Hart, Beth Moore, Faith Hill, Bruno Mars, and more. It’s a great size for any type of event, so plan your next one here in Eugene with Eugene, Cascades & Coast at Matthew Knight Arena.
