The University of Oregon hosts a number of sporting events, varying in impact to campus and the community. When Ducks are competing, UO Athletics and Emergency Management oversee the Stadium Operations and Security (SOS) for football games, which draw up to 60,000 fans. In addition, UO Athletics provides operational planning for sports at a variety of venues, such as cross-country, softball, basketball, lacrosse and soccer. Regional sporting events on, or adjacent to, the UO campus have included the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials, the Eugene Marathon and Cycle Oregon.
