2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Track & Field

Members of the TrackTown USA team will provide event overviews and field questions regarding the upcoming U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Track & Field in 2020.

Speakers:

Michael Reilly, CEO of TrackTown USA
Reilly is a graduate of Stanford University. His long career in event athletics began as a student athlete; and includes serving in roles at Stanford, Oberlin, UO, and as Competition Director for four USA Championships, the Olympic Trials, the NCAA Championships, and the London Organizing Committee. His current focus is on delivering the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials, known as TrackTown20.
 
Jessi Gabriel, Director of Strategic Communications at TrackTown USA.
Jessi has been with the organization since 2015. Jessi earned her Master’s Degree in Public Policy at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. A former NCAA D1 student-athlete and graduate assistant coach, she is passionate about the sport of track & field at every level.

 

World Athletics Championships - Oregon21

Representatives of Oregon21 will be on hand to provide event overviews and field questions regarding the upcoming 2021 World Athletics Championships - Oregon21.

Speakers:

James Tolputt, Chief Operating Officer of Oregon21
Tolputt began his career in sports event planning and operational delivery at the 1998 Soccer World Cup in France and followed this by subsequently working on every Summer and Winter Olympic Games in a variety of roles.  For the last 10 years he has worked within the heart of sport as a senior member of management at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Switzerland.  He brings with him a unique depth and breadth of operational expertise to the team.
 
Sarah Massey, Managing Director of Oregon21
Massey has 25 years experience in leading the planning and hosting of global sporting events on behalf of both International Federations and Local Organizing Committees.  Her experience includes working with a multitude of different sports, including prominent track and field events in the UK.  Alongside this she ran her own boutique marketing business specializing in advising federations and brands on the empowerment of women in sport within their organizations.
 
Kari Westlund, President & CEO of Travel Lane County 
Kari Westlund has four decades of experience in the hospitality industry in Alaska and Oregon, the past twenty-three as President & CEO of Travel Lane County. She currently serves as the co-chair of the Oregon21 Legacy Team.

Carlyn Schreck, Assistant Vice President for Presidential Initiatives, University of Oregon 
Schreck is the university’s lead for the upcoming 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field and the IAAF World Athletics Championships Oregon21.

 

Summers of 2020 and 2021

Keith will walk us through the milestones that will occur during the summers of 2020 and 2021, highlighting all the events and energy that will be created, and dive into how the local sports community can best leverage it.

Speaker:

Keith Peters, Consultant, Mixed Zone Media
Following a career in sports marketing and PR at Nike (1984-2001), Keith launched a marketing communications consulting practice, with a focus on environmentally oriented non-profits. As the former executive director of the Council for Responsible Sport, he remains an active Council board member. He currently is an active member of the Oregon21 Legacy Team.
