This open-ended discussion will dive deeper into medical support at events including topics such as: How to manage an effective medical team, the differences between using volunteer vs. professional medical staff, the legal liabilities and credentials needed, and questions to ask your medical providers.

An athlete’s event experience starts long before they step on to the field of play. In this panel discussion, we will dive into to strategies and creative ways to elevate your athlete and participants experience from when they first arrive in your destination through the end of your event. Learn from veteran planner’s creative ways to incorporate team welcomes, community giveback, and destination events and excursions, to take your athlete and participant experience to the next level.

The Oregon Sports Summit is excited to welcome former NFL player David Vobora as our 2022 keynote speaker. Upon retiring from the NFL in 2012, he opened Performance Vault — a sports performance training center aimed at helping rebuild wounded warriors. Soon after opening, he launched the non-profit organization called Adaptive Training Foundation. ATF provides access and inclusion to individuals living with physical or traumatic impairments by empowering them through exercise and community.

David is a hope dealer, an alchemist of human development, and a sweat psychologist. He always has one eye on personal and foundational growth, the other eye ensuring no one is left behind in the process, and both feet firmly planted in the present.

Join us for his keynote presentation as he shares his inspirational story and wisdom with attendees.

This session will focus on how a simple idea about building a track for the school evolved into a bigger vision that has energized the community through this work. The IncubatorU 5 Step Methodology is practical, results oriented and provides a framework for success. Learn how this methodology allows for dreams to become reality through maximizing the potential of resources that are already available and can be applied to any project, organization or a community looking to transform. This session will dive into the case study of the development of the Maupin Deschutes River Athletic Complex and how bringing world class events to a small town can benefit the entire community.
