In this session, Mike Duncan from the UO Athletics Department, Michael Wargo with Willamalane Park and Recreation District and Lisa Chan with the Oregon Convention Center will go over all the “facility” parts of an event like rental, parking, set up / break down, concessions, tickets and more!


Kyle StanfieldKyle Stanfield  Assistant Executive Director, OSAA

Kyle Stanfield is an Assistant Executive Director with the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA).  The OSAA is the governing body of high school sports in the state.  Kyle has been with the Association for 10 years.  Kyle oversees corporate sponsorships, public relations, marketing and oversee multiple state championship events.  Additionally, Kyle is the director of the OSAA Foundation, a separate 501(c)3 to the OSAA.

Mike Duncan  Senior Associate Athletic Director, University of Oregon

Mike Duncan joined the Oregon administrative staff in October 2008 and is the Senior Associate Athletic Director working directly with facilities, events and operations.

Duncan joined the Ducks after spending seven years as the Vice President of Arena Programming for ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California. Duncan led the efforts of Maloof Sports and Entertainment to grow business through securing and developing events and increasing event attendance.

Duncan’s duties included negotiating contracts, overseeing management and completing financial reviews and analysis of every event.

Prior to his role as the Vice President of Arena Programming, Duncan spent eleven years as the Vice President of Arena Operations for ARCO Arena. Duncan directed and oversaw the operations of the arena as well as developed and managed the annual arena operating budget.

Duncan also spent two years as the booking manager for ARCO Arena and three years as the Director of Community Relations and Promotions for the Sacramento Kings.

Duncan started his athletic administration career as the Sports Information Director at Sacramento State University from 1980-1985. His duties included servicing media requests, writing and editing media guides, releases and event programs, as well as selling and implementing athletic department sponsorships.

Duncan is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and public relations.

Michael WargoMichael Wargo  Assistant Superintendent - Recreation, Strategic Planning & Resource Development, Willamalane Park and Recreation District

Michael is the Assistant Superintendent of Willamalane Park and Recreation District, winner of the 2016 Gold Medal Award for Excellence in the Field of Park and Recreation Management.  A Certified Recreation and Park Professional, he has over 25 years’ experience in the field of athletics, parks and recreation.  Prior to Willamalane, Michael was the Executive Director of Coquille Parks and Recreation in Louisiana, Deputy Director of the Mercer County Park Commission in New Jersey, and Associate Director of Athletics for Rider University.
