World Athletics Championships Oregon21

August 2021

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Athletics Championships are coming to Eugene, Oregon from August 6-15, 2021 for the world's largest sporting event of the year. This will be the first time in history that the championships are held in the United States. This esteemed event will bring 2,000 athletes to compete at one of the finest running tracks in the world right here in TrackTown USA

A City Reborn

As Eugene prepares to be the focus of world-wide attention, the city has come together to create new green space, build fresh gathering centers and showcase their commitment to the arts. Some projects to be unveiled by Oregon21 include the 20x21 Mural Project, the "2,021 for 2021" giant sequoia planting initiative, the Downtown Riverfront Development and much more.
