2017 Photo Contest

Be part of a magnificent performance! Professional and amatuer photographers are invited to submit hi-resolution photographs and video of the McKenzie River for a chance to be included in the Eugene Symphony's February 2018 multi-media presentation of Vivaldi’s "The Four Seasons." This special program, aptly presented as "The Four Seasons of the McKenzie River," will use juried imagery as the backdrop to the orchestra. 

Submissions accepted: January 16, 2017 – November 22, 2017

All media submissions are to be submitted electronically through this website by 5 p.m. PST on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.

  • Media must be captured in the year 2014 or later.
  • For use in the final production, media must be submitted with the LOCATION, DATE FILMED and YOUR NAME on all files, and adhere to the submission guidelines below.

  • Horizontal orientation
  • Minimum of 1920x1080 pixels, ideally 8MP
  • If your photo is over 10 MP in file size, please e-mail for a Dropbox URL to share through.
  • File types accepted: JPG

Photographer Credit & Recognition

Thank you for submitting your photography and video for this McKenzie River tribute. Selected work will be acknowledged through:

  • Exposure to an expected audience of 2,200 at the concert itself
  • Credit in the printed program at the concert and end-reel credits
  • Mentions on Eugene Symphony’s website, e-newsletters and social media channels
  • Invitation to special dress rehearsal event

Social Media


The public is also invited to share their photos on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter with the hashtag #McKenzie4Seasons. This does not enter images into the photo contest; however, the photographer could be contacted if his/her imagery seems suitable for final production. Also, photos posted with the #McKenzie4Seasons hashtag might be shared via social media by Eugene Symphony and its partnering organizations, used in promotions of this project, and possibly displayed on a virtual photo wall before and during the concert.

"The Four Seasons of The McKenzie River" cultivates awareness and appreciation for the McKenzie River. The McKenzie River Trust is a non-profit land trust protecting critical habitat and scenic lands in the McKenzie River basin.
