Getting Here & Getting Around

Getting to the Eugene, Cascades & Coast is easy. Fly into the Eugene Airport directly from thirteen major cities. The airport is only 15 minutes from downtown Eugene. Amtrak stops in downtown Eugene and Interstate 5 intersects Eugene - Springfield, two hours south of Portland.

Getting Around Eugene

In Eugene's downtown and UO campus area there are a variety of active transit options including rental bicycles, bike share programs, pedi-cabs, ride service and bus routes.

Uber and Lyft ride-shares both operate in Eugene, and there are taxis available too. Lane Transit District (LTD) public bus service maintains extensive metro coverage, including their EmX rapid transit system on a direct line which runs approximately ten minutes on weekdays and 20-30 minute intervals on weekends and evenings. The EmX route connects many hotels with sports and conference venues and shopping areas.

Traveling to Nearby Communities

Most of the communities are connected through LTD's bus routes. Some private transportation companies also provide scheduled shuttles.

Florence is on Highway 101 along the Oregon Coast, or drive Highway 126 one hour west of Eugene. There is daily public transportation between Eugene and Florence.

To get to the Cascades, drive either Highway 58 toward Oakridge or Highway 126 to the McKenzie River. Bus routes connect Eugene - Springfield with both the McKenzie River and Oakridge mountain communities. Confirm routes, stops and schedules before departing, as these may change depending on weather conditions. Do not depend on cell service in some of these areas so have your travel plans set before departing.
