Food Tours

Experience wine, beer and food at its origin. We all agree, the closer food is to its source, the better it tastes, and the more it nourishes the body and benefits the community. Local culinary adventures introduce you to real food. Whether it's crushing grapes with a vintner, lifting a pint with the brewmaster, or shaking hands with a farmer; partake in the farm-to-fork experience and savor the flavor!

There are many ways to partake in a gastronomic adventure. For the gourmand, delve deep into a cooking or beverage class at Provisions Market Hall in downtown Eugene. Cruise the local breweries on the Pacific Pub Cycle with a group of friends or arrange a beekeeping tour with Queen's Bounty or start up your own hive with help from GloryBee. Help with a hop harvest or prune vines at Pfeiffer Winery.

Baking Woodfired Bread at Camas Country Mill by Colin Morton

During the summer and fall, picking your own fruits and vegetables is a great way to connect with the local food supply. Shop at roadside farm stands or "u-pick" strawberries, peaches, cherries, plums, berries, tomatoes, pears, apples, corn, nuts, squash, pumpkins and flowers. Visit Camas Country Mill Store & Bakery for a "barrel tour" of the crops they grow. During the summer, Camas Country Mill offers farm walks too. For the holidays, take a tractor or hayride to a pumpkin patch or to cut your own Christmas tree at Northern Lights Christmas Tree Farm.

Alpacas by Cari Garrigus

While cows, goats, sheep, pigs, horses and chickens are common on area farms, did you know the region supports a half dozen alpaca ranches? Alpacas are valued for their woolly fur. Learn more about this gentle animal at local alpaca farms.

Canvasing Eugene's local food carts is another delectable way to chomp and tromp through the city. Wish the food trucks were all in one place? Your wish comes true at the annual Eugene Food Truck Fest held each June at the Lane Events Center.
