Rosary Lakes Snow Trail
Gold Lake Sno-Park » Rosary Lakes |
This route follows the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail (PCT) northeast for 3 miles from Willamette Pass to Lower Rosary Lake. For the first two miles, it goes through a heavily wooded area with a southern exposure which contributes to icy conditions at times.
Turning north, the snow usually improves for the remaining mile to Lower Rosary Lake. The elevation gain of 600 feet in three miles is sometimes a challenge, especially if the trail is icy, but the view of Lower Rosary Lake and the free glide back is worth the effort.
North and Middle Rosary Lakes are about a half mile farther up the PCT.
