The Cottage Grove Half Marathon and 10k run will take place on Saturday, September 14th on the scenic Row River Trail and along the banks of Dorena Lake. The fourth annual USA Track & Field sanctioned event is produced by Oregon Trail Runs and benefits many groups, organizations and businesses in the Cottage Grove community. Runners appreciate the fast point-to-point half marathon course that has a net loss of over 200 feet over the 13.1 miles from Dorena School to Bohemia Park.
Online registration for participants is available on the event website and closes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13th or when the event registration cap is reached.
Runners’ packets can be picked up in Eugene at Run Hub Northwest from 2:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 12th and in Cottage Grove at the Village Green Inn from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13th. Packets can be picked up on the day of the race between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. at the bus pick-up location in Bohemia Park in Cottage Grove. Participants must bring a signed waiver form and picture ID to receive their packet. The waiver form can be downloaded from the event website.
The 10k run starts at 9:15 a.m. from Trailhead Park and the half marathon begins at 9:30 a.m. from Dorena School.
After the races, fans and runners can join vendors in Trailhead Park to enjoy refreshments and see the awards ceremony which starts at 11:30 a.m.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Cottage Grove Armory, Cottage Grove Track and Field, Cottage Grove Aqua Lions, Cottage Grove Bohemia Sunrisers Kiwanis, South Lane Amateur Radio Association and the Dorena School Parent Club.
Oregon Trail Runs has partnered with the Eugene, Cascades & Coast Sports Commission to promote the event and to offer participants a “Show Your Race Bib” discount program at local retail stores and restaurants in Cottage Grove and the surrounding area.
