Duck Downtown Activities Gear Up to
Welcome Football Fans for Home Opener

Eugene and Springfield
begin Friday, August 29 -
Eugene & Springfield, Ore. - Restaurants, breweries, retail shops and other downtown venues are geared up to welcome football fans for a new series of events kicking off in both Eugene and Springfield on Friday, August 29.
Duck Downtown activities will continue every Friday before home football games. Fans are invited to flock to the downtown areas of Eugene and Springfield for fan-friendly activities, such as contests, games and prizes, as well as food and beverage discounts. Fan can enjoy everything from special Duck-themed menu items to fun, football fan competitions. The Fifth Street Public Market, for example, will offer the best "Ducked-out" fans a chance to win a $100 gift certificate.
The University of Oregon Duck Truck, and friends, will wind its way through both downtowns, which will be decked with yellow and green banners and posters.

WHEN: Kicks off Friday, August 29 (Additional Duck Downtown events will be held Sept. 5 & 12, Oct. 17 & 31 and Nov. 21)
WHERE: Downtown Eugene and Springfield
WHO: Duck Downtown is a joint venture of the University of Oregon, Travel Lane County, Lane Transit District, ODOT Passenger Rail Division, Amtrak Cascades, Downtown Eugene, Inc., the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce.
GAME TRAINS: Fans from outside the region can enjoy special Game Train fares on Amtrak Cascades. Amtrak is offering discounted round-trip tickets between Eugene and both Portland and Seattle. Game Train ticket holders can ride the Lane Transit District's (LTD) bus system free all weekend.
FREE LTD BUS SERVICE: All fans can ride to and from Duck Downtown events on Fridays after 5 p.m. for free.
